Ibom Power Company is one of the foremost operational independent power plants in Nigeria and the first and only independent power producer (supplying power to the national grid) in Akwa Ibom State of Nigeria.

Incorporated on the 15th January 2001 by the Corporate Affairs Commission of Nigeria when Nigeria began its reform in the power sector. The company is headquartered in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State with its power plant located at Ikot Abasi LGA where it currently operates its 191 MW Plant.

Ibom Power Plant is situated adjacent to the Aluminum Smelter Company of Nigeria ("ALSCON") Export Processing Factory.

Ibom Power is recognized as a registered participant in the Nigerian Electricity Supply Industry. Committed to safety, innovative growth and personnel development, the company is 100% run by indigenous staff.

The Company was licensed by the National Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) on the 12th of May 2008 to generate electrical power and has only one customer- the Nigerian Bulk Electricity Trading Company.
